Fiemme 2013 has been an inportat opportunity for Val di FIemme to present itself as tourist destination and organiser of global events, but, most of all, as livable valley which takes care of the quality of life of its residents and guests alike. That is also where the slogan of the Organising Committee comes from: Vallevviva (living Valley)..
In addition to the purely sporting aspects, the Fiemme 2013 World Championships should also be seen as a testing groung for the most innovative technologies of the time, such as fiber optics, meant to facilitate secure and fast communication. Likewise, a number of apps were developed to aid the tourism system, so as to offer the spectators a new, increasingly social and personalized way of experiencing the event.
In view of the World Championships 2013, the OC together with Autonomous Province of Trento, the municipalities of the Valley, the District, Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, and Fiemme Tourist Board signed a MoU titled "Environment as Living Space".
All material stemming from the wood production chain utilized raw materials harvested sustainably from local forests, a practice in line with the choice of using locally sourced wood. The PEFC - the most common forestry certification system in the world -further guaranteed the OC's ecological and forward-looking choice. The TV building and the gangway in Lago di Tesero (with the temporary structures and welcome totems), the podium for the prize-giving ceremonies and the accreditation area in Cavalese, the auditorium inside
Gallerie di Piedicastello in Trento, which hosted the Ski Past exhibition, all trophies and wooden road signals placed in Val di Fiemme (43 pieces) and in the motorway A22 (31 pieces), the paper used for the press releases and promotional material: eeach one of these tools was realized in compliance with the PEFC.
